Plot - Choujin Sentai Jetman
The fifteenth installment of the Super Sentai series is Chjin Sentai Jetman. It was created by Bandai and Toei. It had 51 episodes and broadcast on TV Asahi every Friday at 5:30 from February 15, 1991, to February 14, 1992.
It was the last Super Sentai series to not be turned into a Power Rangers series before Ressha Sentai ToQger and was inspired by Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman.
Choujin Sentai Jetman: Toki wo Kakete, a non-canon manga sequel that takes place five years after the original series, was later born from it.
On September 25, 2018, Shout! Factory released Jetman on Region 1 DVD in North America. As a result, Jetman is the first Sentai series to be released in North America in its original form that isn’t a Power Rangers adaptation.
The series received a 7.1% average rating.
Plot Chjin Sentai Jetman
This television series takes set in 1991 on the Earth Ship, the headquarters of Sky Force, an international defence organisation that serves as the planet’s peacekeeper. Scientists have created “Birdonic Waves” in the ship, a brand-new technology that grants the subject superhuman skills.
The “J-Project” experiments were a success. The project’s director, Aya Odagiri, picked five top Sky Force representatives from Earth to use this technology.
One of the Sky Force officers named Ryu Tendo successfully exposed himself to the Birdonic waves, becoming the Red Hawk, the first Jetman.
However, Vyram, an evil extradimensional group bent on interdimensional dominance, suddenly attacks the Earth Ship. In the ensuing turmoil, they successfully destroy the ship, killing Ryu’s partner and fellow prospective member Rie.
Four civilians are struck by the four leftover Birdonic waves that were intended for the other four officials. After making a successful escape, Odagiri and Ryu start looking for the four remaining Jetmen on Earth and train them to help them thwart Vyram’s aspirations to rule our dimension.
