The Story of Kamen Rider Ichigo

A mysterious terrorist group called Shocker was causing havoc in the world where the novel was set.

Shocker recruited its agents by kidnapping, transforming the victims into mutant cyborgs, and ultimately brainwashing them in order to advance its objectives for global dominance. Takeshi Hongo, one of the victims, managed to escape shortly before the complete brainwashing, nevertheless.

Hongo, a cyborg superhero with a grasshopper theme, fought Shocker’s goons while maintaining his sanity and moral compass. He was known as Kamen Rider #1.

Hayato Ichimonji, a free-lance photographer who was also one of Shocker’s victims, received cyborg implants; nevertheless, Kamen Rider prevented him from being brainwashed to become Kamen Rider #2.

The Kamen Riders battled against Shocker and its offshoot group Gel Shocker in both single and team missions with the aid of motorcycle race team boss Tobee Tachibana and FBI agent Kazuya Taki.
