Plot - Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraiya
From January 24, 1988, to January 22, 1989, TV Asahi and its affiliates aired the 50-episode Japanese television series Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraiya. It belonged to the live-action superhero series Metal Hero Series, which was produced by Toei.
The story centers on Toha Yamaji, a young ninja master who must battle multiple ninja masters from various regions of the world while wearing a special armor to assume the identity of Jiraiya.
As a nod to the Seoul and Calgary Olympics, which were taking place at the same time the series was broadcast, Toei’s worldwide sales division assigned the English title Ninja Olympiad.
Despite the lack of an American adaptation of this show, Bandai created a toy line based on Jiraiya called Tacky Stretchoid Warriors. Jiraiya was given the name Space Sheriff Skyfire in Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel 29 years later.
